 Akanksha came from a modest middle-class background, residing in a traditional Chawl in Mumbai. Her father, Sampat, was a mill worker who had persevered through numerous challenges, while her elder brother Amit juggled his time between working as a salesman in a small garment store and delivering for a food app. Her mother, Madhavi, contributed by stitching sari blouses. Although their lives were hand-to-mouth, they found happiness in their simple existence—except for Akanksha. She harbored big dreams, yearning to break free from the constraints of her ordinary life. Every day, she would eagerly read the Page 3 of the newspaper, fantasizing about entering the glamorous world it depicted.


One day at a career fair, Akanksha discovered a bachelor's program in Journalism. However, the steep tuition fees posed a significant barrier for her family. "Dada, could you help me find a way to pay my course fees?" she would plead with Amit. "I promise I'll work hard and become the best journalist in the city." With a smile, Amit reassured her that he would do his utmost to support her aspirations. He spoke to his employer, worked overtime, and eventually gathered enough money to cover her tuition.


With the financial support she needed, Akanksha dove into her journalism studies. To supplement her income and afford the fashionable wardrobe she desired, she gave extra tuition classes. Her hard work paid off as she graduated with flying colors, quickly landing a job as a Page 3 journalist at a daily newspaper. Akanksha’s dreams had become a reality, and she relished her new life filled with glamour, late-night parties, elegant gowns, and sparkling jewelry. She mingled with celebrities and befriended many of them, fully embracing her role in the spotlight.


At one such party, she caught the eye of Danny, a charismatic but notorious underworld figure. Dressed in a stunning wine-colored evening gown, Akanksha found herself enchanted by Danny's charming blue eyes and sharp Armani suit as he showered her with flowers and diamonds. Their friendship blossomed, and soon her late nights became more frequent, with her humble upbringing fading from her memory. Akanksha moved from the Chawl into a luxurious penthouse, all while Danny frequently visited her. She resigned from her position as a Page 3 journalist, attending lavish events by his side and reveling in the attention of Bollywood stars—transitioning from a journalist to a Page 3 sensation.


Life became a whirlwind of parties, shopping, and her relationship with Danny. Akanksha underwent a complete transformation. One evening, she called her family with the news: "Aai, I'm moving to the Middle East tonight to be with Danny." She delivered the message with hesitation, fully aware of her family's disapproval of her new lifestyle. "May God be with you, dear," Madhavi responded, her voice trembling with a mix of concern and sorrow.


Days later, the Sampat family was devastated to read the shocking news on the front page of the newspaper: "Danny’s Girlfriend, an Ex-Page 3 Journalist, Found Dead in Bathtub of Marina Bay Penthouse." In a tragic twist of fate, Akanksha had gone from being a Page 3 reporter to a headline of Page 1, marking a somber end to her dreamlike narrative.

A Beacon of Compassion and strength

Ramesh mama was like a second father to me . All through my ups and downs in life , all my medical emergencies, he held my hand and patiently guided me along .
